I won't dwell on the fact that I haven't posted in months. Experiential learning, and time, got the best of me. That said, I'm super excited to continue sharing my adventures with you all. Here's a quick update of what I've been up to the last couple of months:
I finished up my semester in San Francisco a few weeks ago, then moved to the Augusta Georgia area for my summer internship. I ended the semester the way any college student would, with a trip to Napa Valley, a Giants baseball game, a few more SoulCycle classes, and one last stop at all of my favorite restaurants and bakeries. It was so bittersweet leaving such a beautiful city, and an evolving startup learning environment, but I was so excited for what Georgia had in store.
This is my third week in the south, and it's been nothing short of amazing. I'm absolutely loving my internship, I've met another amazing group of people, and I'm getting to travel to beautiful places. Oh, and the constant sunshine doesn't hurt either. If that's not the dream, I'm not quite sure what is.
I spent my first full weekend laying in the sun, meeting fellow interns, and kayaking on the Savannah River. The canal was breathtaking and it was a bonus that I got an awesome arm workout from rowing for 5 miles. Side note: I also may have seen a water snake at one point, so my heart temporarily stopped because snakes freak me out. Aside from that, I'm so happy that there are so many options for outdoor activities here and I can't wait to experience it all. I think my next stop will be a nice long run on one of the trails near the river. I spent Memorial Day weekend in Hilton Head Island with some friends and it was an incredible weekend filled with tons of laughs and no sleep. We stayed in a beautiful house with a wrap-around porch (straight out of my dream vacation home Pinterest board), right across from the beach. I don’t need to clarify that I was living the dream in real life.
One of my roommates Kelsey and I had this dream of eating cake by the ocean (like the song), so we made it happen. We know that the song doesn't mean someone's literally eating cake by the ocean, but I won't get into that. If you're looking for something life-changing to do I suggest you eat some delicious chocolate cake by the Atlantic... Life. Made.
I genuinely realize that I am so blessed to have these wonderful experiences. I hope it inspires some of you to chase your dreams and travel somewhere that you've never been before! I've said it before and I'll say it again... "to travel is to take a journey into yourself." I'm looking forward to sharing some future adventures, and I can't wait for the upcoming weeks. This is a special summer, as I stare the last of my college years right in the eyes. What a magnificent time. Seize the day, my friends.
